Attraction Is the Door… and I’ll Probably Die Alone Waiting for the Right One

I will probably die alone because I refuse to choose comfort over desire. Attraction starts the story. Without it, relationships rot into routine, obligation, and sex with your eyes closed. I want connection that burns, not companionship that numbs.

Attraction Is the Door… and I’ll Probably Die Alone Waiting for the Right One

Let’s get fucking real for a second.

Attraction is not optional. It’s not a bonus feature. It’s not something you can politely grow into while telling yourself you’re a good person for closing your eyes and trying. Attraction is the ignition. If the engine never turns over, you’re just sitting in the driveway pretending you’re on a fucking road trip.

And yes, this is the part where I openly admit I will most likely die alone.

Not because I’m bitter. Not because I’m broken. But because I refuse to lie to myself.

Attraction Is the First Lie People Try to Talk You Out Of

Everyone loves to say, “But they’re such a good person.” Cool. So is my dentist. But that doesn't mean there's an attraction there. Plus, dentists are evil fucking people.

Physical attraction is the first thing that pulls two people together. Period. That look. That pull. That irrational moment where your brain shuts up and your body goes, “Yep. That one.” Without that, there is no romance. There is no tension. There is no spark. There is just polite companionship and a slow fucking death by routine and sex with your eyes closed (if there is even sex happening).

You can’t build desire out of respect and kindness alone. You can’t fuck compatibility charts. And no amount of emotional intelligence will make you crave someone your nervous system never wanted in the first place.

Your “Type” Isn’t Shallow… It’s Fucking Honest

I have a type. Not a checklist. Not a Pinterest board. A visceral reaction.

And here’s where it gets inconvenient.

I don’t just want someone attractive. I want someone insanely attractive to me. The kind of attractive that makes my brain glitch and my dick hard. The kind that makes me stop mid-sentence because I forgot what I was saying by getting lost in her eyes and smile.

But wait… there’s more of course.

They also need personality. Humor. Kindness. A big heart. Emotional depth. Loyalty. Self-awareness. Effort. Integrity. Someone who actually gives a shit. And some who actually respects their partner.

This is where the odds plummet and the stock tanks.

Because apparently wanting hot and kind is asking for the fucking moon, on a different planet, in a different galaxy, from a different universe.

Personality Alone Will Not Save a Sexless Relationship

Let’s stop pretending personality can carry the whole damn relationship. It works for friends, but not for partners. Personality keeps you talking. Attraction keeps you touching.

When attraction is missing, sex becomes scheduled, mechanical, or imaginary. Just two people playing with eachothers parts to occasionally relieve some tension or because one of you saw something on the TV that made you fucking horny. Compliments dry up. Desire turns into obligation. And one day you wake up next to someone who loves you deeply… and doesn’t want you or desire you.

That’s when cheating shows up. Not always because someone is evil, but because they’re starving. Starving for desire. For being wanted. For feeling chosen instead of fucking tolerated. No, it doesn't justify cheating at all... Nothing does... But when you reflect in your new mental rubber room you will understand how it happened.

Ignoring attraction doesn’t make you evolved. It makes you quietly miserable and settling so you aren't lonely anymore. And that is bullshit.

Routine Is Where Desire Goes to Die

Without attraction, relationships turn into routines. Wake up. Work. Eat. Sleep. Repeat. You become roommates with shared trauma and a joint bank account with an occasioanl mutual masterbation session. And then people say shit like, “Love changes.”

No. Desire was never there if you skipped past the attraction part of dating.

Real attraction doesn’t disappear because life gets hard. It gets tested. And if it survives, it becomes the glue when everything else fucking sucks.

Routines happen in every relationship. You cannot escape them. They show up whether you like it or not. But without desire and attraction, those routines don’t evolve… they calcify. They harden. They turn into emotional rigor mortis where nothing grows and everything feels fucking dead. With real attraction and desire, even when buried under stress, kids, work, and life bullshit, the fire isn’t gone… it’s dormant. And all it takes is intention, effort, and one honest spark to light the whole fucking thing back up.

Why I’ll Probably Die Alone (And I’m Weirdly Okay With It)

Here’s the unhinged truth that is my fucked up brain.

I would rather be alone than with someone I don’t crave passionately and vice versa. I would rather die single than slowly rot in a relationship where I’m loved but not desired, safe but bored, appreciated but not wanted.

I am looking for the unicorn.

Someone who makes my body react with a look or simple touch. Someone who makes my mind calm and race at the same time. Someone kind, warm, emotionally capable. Someone with a big heart and sharp edges. Someone who feels like home and chaos at the same fucking time. I just need my four pillars of loyalty, respect, peace, and support wrapped up in a package that makes my heart beat a little faster.

And yes… that probably means I’ll be alone longer than most people. Most likely forever. But settling on this feels worse than solitude.

Attraction Starts the Story… Everything Else Decides If It’s Worth Living

Attraction gets you in the door. Personality decides if you stay. Character decides if you build something real. Miss any one of those and the whole thing fucking collapses eventually. So no, I won’t apologize for wanting it all. I don't feel bad because I am not attracted to you or you to me. I won’t downplay attraction to sound mature. I won’t choose safety over desire. I won’t lie to myself to avoid loneliness.

If that means dying alone… fine.

At least I won’t die bored, resentful, or quietly fantasizing about someone else while pretending I’m happy.

Some people want comfort.

I want connection that burns, scars, and cuts deep.

And yeah… that’s probably going to fucking kill me.

Worth it. Bye.
